One of the first, and biggest, decisions an engaged couple has to make is where to get married. Choosing the perfect wedding venue is important because it’s a reflection of your personalities and sets the tone for the entire day. But, with so many unique places to get married in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, choosing one can be an overwhelming task. Here is a short list of some beautiful wedding venues that will make your big day extra special.
The Orchard Event Venue & Retreat
With over 100 acres, The Orchard Event Venue & Retreat offers couples and their guests an unforgettable wedding experience against the backdrop of a beautiful pecan orchard. The venue boasts multiple sites for a rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and/or reception, such as The Pergola, the Plaza, The Pecan Room, and Reception Hall. The Orchard also offers on-site lodging in a six-bedroom lodge with a pool and 15 cabins with fire pits and games. It’s the perfect setting for an unforgettable day!
Rated at 5 stars, read what a former bride, Megan Roan, has to say, “The Orchard is an absolute dream venue for any wedding ceremony and/or reception. Kevin, Ashley, and the rest of the team were so easy to work with and made the rehearsal and wedding day go so smoothly. Ashley was such a help in answering my questions for the entire 18 months of planning, especially the month of the wedding. There are so many options at The Orchard that any couple can make the place their own for what they want their big day to be. The Lodge and cabins were perfect for our families to stay on-site and were a huge bonus for the wedding party to start getting ready in. Our families and the wedding party were able to hang out around the cabins throughout the entire weekend and get to know each other even more, especially since many of them are spread out across the state and country. Kevin and his staff bartended the day-of, and our guests never had to wait in a long line. The furniture and other amenities were perfectly arranged once we arrived, and everyone was so friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend visiting this venue when you are looking, as it was my favorite of the many we visited and was definitely the most flexible and helpful of all the venues in the area. Plus they can accommodate a large guest count and have plenty of space for everyone. Thank y’all for allowing us to have the best day!”
The Carlisle Room
The Carlisle Room in downtown Dallas is the perfect location for the fun-loving couple looking for a wedding with a big-city vibe. Located in the renovated Lone Star Gas building, built in 1931, this venue is the perfect blend of historic charm, Art Deco style, and modern luxury. Featuring marble walls, terrazzo floors, and 17-foot ceilings, it’s an awe-inspiring venue that can accommodate up to 200 people. Any wedding here will be an event to remember!
Former bride, Sara F recommends The Carlisle Room by saying, “We hosted our wedding ceremony and reception at The Carlisle Room. We chose the space based on its awesome downtown location, having both (but separate) ceremony and reception space, unique and historical design and architecture, and the items included. We loved that we needed minimal décor and “extras” to make both the ceremony and reception space beautiful. The Carlisle Room + Beyond the Box provides the seating (although we did splurge for the $7 per chair for the gold chiavari reception chairs), drink and plate-ware, and tables, so few rentals are needed (linens and centerpieces). Jennifer was helpful and knowledgeable about the space. Our friends and family thought the space was stunning and a perfect size for our 143 guest count (~15 tables). We would definitely recommend The Carlisle Room if you’re looking for a cool downtown wedding (and delicious food from Beyond the Box).”
Fort Worth Zoo
The Fort Worth Zoo offers a unique and elegant wedding experience that will be unforgettable for you and your guests. Against the backdrop of “lush greenery, exotic wildlife and natural ambiance,” there are a wide range of venues that can be personalized to ensure a memorable wedding celebration for up to 1,200 guests. Whether you want a simple, casual wedding or an elegant, elaborate affair, the Zoo can meet your needs and create the wedding of your dreams.
Louise, a former groom says, “We had both our ceremony and reception at the Fort Worth Zoo. The ceremony was held on the deck outside of the Portraits of the Wild Art Gallery and it was beautiful! The reception was inside the gallery. We had the Wild Wonders Animal Presentation, where the WW staff brought around 4 animals to each table during the reception. We got to pose with the animals and all our guests thought it was so cool and unique to have animals at our wedding. The Zoo catered the food and we got so many compliments on it! The staff was wonderful and they made sure everything ran smoothly. I loved this venue because it was beautiful and unique.”
Knotting Hill Place
For a wedding with a European vibe, look no further than Knotting Hill Place. With over 17,000 square feet of venue space over 5 acres of land, there is plenty of room for weddings of any size. The mansion blends old-world European charm and contemporary design to satisfy the tastes of couples looking for a little history or a little modern flare. There are also beautiful outdoor gardens and an event lawn for couples wanting an outdoor wedding. It’s a venue fit for royalty!
Knotting Hill Place is great for low-key wedding royalty as Joel Thomas recommends, “Great decal, looks like a castle/mansion fit for a rich person/king, amazing venue for a low key wedding, staff was considerate and on top of things, definitely recommend if you choose to have a low key wedding spot but still be seen as royalty.”
Nasher Sculpture Center Gardens
If you are an art-loving couple, the Nasher Sculpture Center Gardens may be the wedding venue for you. It is an urban retreat that offers outdoor and indoor ceremonies where you will be surrounded by works of art from master sculptors such as Picasso, Matisse, Miro, Giacometti, Calder and Rodin. This stunning venue will let you create a unique wedding experience you will never forget.
Diana recommends Nasher for their great professionalism, “Our first meeting with Nasher was amazing. They helped us feel very comfortable with everything, especially a rain plan since our reception would be held outdoors. I think we ended up with 3 plans at the end of day but thank goodness we did not require them. They did such a wonderful job helping us create the atmosphere we wanted our guests to experience. We ended up putting up lights where they usually don’t go just for us. If you want an outdoor wedding this is definitely the place to go. The ceremony can only be held inside but that worked out well since it was warm outside.”
Century Hall in the heart of downtown Fort Worth is an industrial-chic venue for couples looking for something that’s both modern and vintage. The interior is stunning, with old hardwood floors, tin ceilings, exposed brick walls, and oversized industrial lighting. This venue, that’s a little bit different and very unique, is sure to set a charming vibe that you and your guests will enjoy and remember.
Giving props to Century Hall’s professionalism and quality, Allison Lezon writes, “If you are looking for a unique city vibe venue, this is the perfect place for you! Fort Worth is known as Funky Town and this venue embraces that vibe while still being refined and modern. As a photographer and videography team, we love the raw textures of the ceremony space and the colors of the reception area. We always get the best images and highly recommend this venue for your perfect day!”
Dallas Museum of Art
While it’s not a traditional wedding venue, the Dallas Museum of Art is nonetheless the perfect spot for your big day. Located in the Dallas Arts District, this venue has multiple indoor and outdoor areas to choose from for your ceremony and reception, such as a Sculpture Garden that features a reflecting pool, and the Hamon Atrium featuring Dale Chihuly glass suspended in front of windows and doors. You don’t have to be an art aficionado to appreciate all the DMA has to offer for an unforgettable ceremony.
Praised for perfection by Martha, “The DMA was the perfect place to host our wedding reception. Everyone we worked with was helpful, friendly, and responsive. Our day went by so smoothly- all the logistics went off without a hitch. The food was delicious (much better than what you expect from ‘wedding food’), and the atrium space is stunning to host an event. I would highly recommend the DMA for any wedding reception!
Arlington Hall at Lee Park
Arlington Hall was built in 1939 in Lee Park, which dates back to 1903. The venue creates a Southern-charm vibe that creates a romantic ambiance that will transport your guests to the Old South. The possibilities for your wedding ceremony and/or reception are endless with large, open indoor spaces and beautiful outdoor lawns and gardens. Though expansive, Arlington Hall allows couples to create a wedding with a very intimate vibe.
Known for its history, Chelsea raves about Arlington Hall: “Such a beautiful venue!!! My wedding ceremony & reception here was absolutely perfect! Brittany was so wonderful to work with!!! The food was incredible & the staff was fantastic during the event! We had a blast & everything was so beautiful!”
Roadrunner Ranch is a modern barnyard wedding venue on a working cattle and horse ranch that spans over 100 acres of farmland. The venue can accommodate any size wedding, from small, intimate ceremonies to large gatherings of up to 350 people, in its multiple sites. If you are wanting to create a “romantic, rustic western ambiance” for your wedding against the backdrop of “sweeping vistas,” this is the perfect venue for you.
If you are looking for elegance mixed with a rustic vibe, read what Marilyn T. has to say about the Roadrunner Ranch. “After finding out that my sister’s wedding venue unexpectedly closed its doors less than 6 months before her wedding we were in a rush to find a venue capable of meeting our needs. I cannot say enough kind things about Jim and Cindy. They were warm and welcoming and above all accommodating. We scheduled a tour the same day and were floored by the beautiful venue at Roadrunner Ranch. The views are breathtaking and well kept. The barn is elegant and rustic, perfect for a Texas wedding. The photo opportunities are endless and they have thought of every detail. We are blessed to have found them and are looking forward to sharing a special day at Roadrunner Ranch!”
The Room on Main
The Room on Main in the Dallas Arts Center is a 6,000-square foot restored historic ballroom that features natural wood floors, antique chandeliers, a 30-foot coffered ceiling, and 15-foot windows on three sides that offer stunning views of the city. The venue has a bridal parlor and a men’s lounge so the bride and groom can get ready on site. If a city-chic vibe is what you want for your big day, The Room on Main is the perfect venue for making that dream come true.
J Rema writes, “The Room on Main was everything I ever wanted in my wedding reception. I had been looking for a venue where my guests would be treated to a gorgeous view of the Dallas skyline; the TROM was perfect for this. Not to mention, the restored ballroom has so much character and is located in the heart of downtown Dallas. My husband and I are proud Texans and are very attached to the city so this couldn’t have been more perfect.”
While this list certainly isn’t exhaustive of all the options for wedding venues in Dallas/Fort Worth, it does offer ideas to please any taste and style. When planning your venue, just make sure to choose one that fits who you are!
